99 Red Balloons

Creative Direction & Design The original illustration of the balloon man was inspired by the phrase, “...a ballooned up man” and he was created for a Digital Illustration class project. I took him a step further by creating a pattern using 99 copies of him, inspired by the song “99 Red Balloons” by Nena. The gray-scale version at the bottom shows how I placed highlight and shadow in the balloon before I added color and blended them together using Adobe Photoshop.
