2018 NIRSA National Flag Football Championship Program WEB DESIGN
Award Winner Website Category, 3rd Place, Dec. 2019, presented by the NIRSA Creative Excellence Awards
Creative Direction Our objective was to turn what was previously a pdf program uploaded through Issuu then linked to the UWF Recreation website into an easy to navigate website that was accessible for all users, including screen readers. Our goal was to create a championship program that would be easy to navigate whether the user is on the computer before the tournament or on their cellphones during the tournament. Our target audience was championship participants, staff, officials and guests.
This project required website creation as well as a print-friendly pdf companion piece, which you can find linked on the homepage of the championship program website. We had two months to create this and had to follow our university’s brand guidelines for both the website and pdf companion piece.
When the task to update the championship program came to us, we saw the need to create something more accessible than the previous years versions. With that objective in mind, we decided to create a website as well as a print-friendly pdf companion piece, which you can find linked on the homepage of the championship program website. Both creations display a clean, easy-to-navigate design, promoting a positive user-experience
We successfully streamlined the user experience. This website was successful at helping our target audience navigate the tournament using the Schedule and Location pages as well as find additional information about the tournament like current staff and officials. We used Google Analytics to measure the success of this website and compared it to the analytics from the previous year; there was an 86% increase in page views.
These webpages were created within the UWF CMS program.
